Perspective House
For this project, we had to draw our version of our dream house. The project helped me get more familiar with perspective and it also allowed me to work on my use of value. It was a little difficult to add texture to certain spots and value with others but as I got farther in the project it got easier.
Alebrijes
For this project, we worked with clay to form an alebrijes. The project helped me get familiar with a different form of art. It was definitely more difficult since I haven't worked with clay before. I struggled at first with getting the shapes of my pinch pots the same but after that it got easier. It wasn't my favorite project but I think I learned alot from it.
Abstract Art
For this project, we worked with different mediums to form an abstract piece. I learned how to use different mediums to see which worked best for me and to get use to other I wasn't familiar with. It was a little difficult to get use to different mediums and getting them to do what I wanted but it was otherwise okay.
Final Project
For my final project, I drew a realistic project of my cousin Sebastian. This project helped me improve on my proportions, shady, and my value. I think I improved a lot from my last realistic portrait. However, I still struggled a lot with the hair and getting the shape and texture of the hair right as well, I struggled with his lips since they were at an angle and his mouth was open. Overall, I enjoyed this project and will work on improving what I struggled with.
Self-Portrait
For this project, we worked on drawing realistic portraits of ourselves. We practices the importance of value and textures and as well we learned how to properly so realistic proportions of ourselves. If I had to do something different I would have tried a different technique to add value to my hair but overall I think this project was very educational.
Impressionism Painting
For this project, we did impressionism painting. We practiced different techniques using acrylic paint, such as dry brush, pointillism, and wash. I liked this project but if I had to do something different I would work on adding more texture on the mountains, dock, and rocks.
Close-up Value Drawing
For this project we did close-up value. We chose a macro photography image and practiced using value, contrast and texture.
My Sketchbook
For this project, we learned how to bind our own sketchbooks. We created our own endpages, created our own cover using fabric, and sewed our signatures into the spine of the cover. I'm not really a fan of how the water colors blended together on my end page.
